On the Lecture Circuit...

The next few weeks are filled with lectures.  Today I will address 150 enthusiastic garden club members and hopefully inspire them with my easy and doable novice approach to dressing things up for the holidays.
I make a trip to the grocery store for bags of cranberries, fruits, and inexpensive roses.  I scan my yard and clip all kinds of greenery to bring along, like variegated euonymus and pachysandra. I will gather containers from my storage space and fill the car to the brim with magazines and tables and a slide show via a device that plays from my laptop. As I prepare, I might be a bit grouchy because I've had a great many early mornings and late nights lately, and the air is cold now, so loading the vehicles is *not so* fun. But, in my mind I will imagine the venue, try to anticipate the questions, and wholeheartedly look forward to meeting every last person that is drawn to engage me and chat about decorating for Christmas. I LOVE THIS PART.. I live for it.. and the more questions and investigation I face from my audience, the more engaged and interested I become. I've met so many wonderful and talented people through the lecture circuit, and I always love to hear their stories and experiences as much as I love to hear about how they came to hear about me. It is a wonderful exchange of ideas and it is when I feel mostly excited about sharing. I've got another big event on November 21st, and I hope to share some images and tales about that evening right here on the blog.

I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can!!
