Mom and Apple Pie!

There is nothing that goes together like Mom and pie, and making one for her is such an easy way to celebrate all the warm and wonderful things she has always done for you.  Pre-made pie crust is truly a revolution in pie making, so you really have no excuse for putting off this simple effort in celebrating your Mother this Sunday. We've compiled some of our very best ideas and inspirations for you, and with less than an hour's investment, you can have a delicious pie to share after Sunday dinner.
The web is filled with wonderful recipes. I favor blueberry pie -- spiked with fresh orange juice and dotted with pats of real butter to make the filling saucy and delicious. Cool ice-box pies would be equally tasty, topped with strawberries, bananas or chunks of chopped chocolate.
Whatever you do, bake up some memories that will unfold and linger throughout your Mother's Day afternoon!

And be sure to enter our Mother's Day giveaway contest. You have a chance to win one of four $150 Visa gift cards and one of five copies of Flea Market Finds with Matthew Mead:

  1. We love pies around here, and my Southern Buttermilk Pie has made me world-famous. Yep, I am a legend in my own mind! ;P

I have made blueberry cobbler, but never blueberry pie. The addition of orange juice to the recipe sounds verra good, lad.....Methinks you must post your recipe!
