Southern Charm...

Why is that something southern always seems like a fresh breath of "cottage" air?  Enter blogger and design savant Layla Palmer of the famed The Lettered Cottage blog.  I met Layla a few years ago when she was growing her blog to include a "book-like" volume of her work (available via her blog) and she asked me to write a forward. I am always honored when designers reach out to me, especially when I can relate to their stories and style.

Well, just a few years later and I was so pleased when Layla agreed to contribute to Flea Market Finds and provide us with her fresh ideas for collecting and decorating with milk glass. It is, after all, Layla's ability to find something simple and easy to find and raise its style and beauty to a "drool worthy" level of sophistication. We had a blast working with Layla's ideas and learning about how she and her husband continue to work their design magic and draw readers in to their decorative accessory ideas and beautiful home shoots. If you haven't already, check out their blog to see all of the wonderful projects and stories they are working on to make all of our lifestyles a bit fresher, richer, and more decorative.

  1. I was SO happy to see Layla featured in your latest Matthew, I absolutely loved the spread, all that classic milk glass against the gorgeous yellow - very inspiring for Spring!

  2. Hi Matthew, just stopping by to say how delightful your blog is. Thanks so much for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris

  3. Matthew, I just got the latest issue yesterday (thank you very much, as I won it on the last giveaway). As I expected, it's gorgeous, through and through.

I've always loved milk glass, so I was pleased to see this feature.
