I work better under pressure...which is precisely why today will kick-off my Christmas shopping and preparations for Saturday. Yup, that's me... waiting right until the last minute to pull together my celebration. At the studio, we are working on an Easter project and we moved everything so that the floors can be painted during our break. I will take my parents out shopping with me today... we will drive up the coast of Maine to specialty stores and antiques shops looking for very personal gifts (and avoiding the crowds) and wind our way through small Massachusetts towns searching for farm stands and boutique shops with something fresh and different and never before seen by my list of recipients. We will go to HARBOR CANDY in Ogunquit Maine to get Jenny's favorite chocolates and I will stop at Whole Foods for some stocking stuffers. When I get home I will organize my purchases and devise a wrapping scheme. I like to use items that I have collected throughout the year, especially for the embellishments and gift tags. I will steal away to our den or guest suite (anywhere that has a television) and start the mad dash of carefully folding, taping, and tying with bows and silk ribbons.
Here are some special last minute gift tags that can be made using things you may have on hand. They will look like you have spent a great deal of time on them, but they are all easy and fun to make. I hope they inspire you to try your hand at something that really makes your gift and wrapping extra special.
