A Mailing Update...please read!

Good Things Come to those who Wait...

It is a phrase I hoped I wouldn't have to use in conjunction with my HOLIDAY magazine. But, unfortunately, there have been a few delays on the printing front. The paper we are using is similar to the Anthropologie catalog, so it really drinks in a great deal of ink. Some of the darker images suffer a bit so it is almost painstaking in revising how it all works with the printing press. Rest assured, any delay involves my commitment to you and delivering a beautiful finished volume of work. I was on call all last week and every two hours went to the printers to review a new spread "hot of the press." Printing ends today but I will have a day of visits to oversee the colors and saturation. Then all the pages are folded and ordered and then shipped off to be bound with the cover... and we are estimating that bound copies will be shipped out as early as Thursday or Friday. It is a laborious process...and in essence puts us about a week behind schedule with regards to arrival in your mailboxes. We hope you understand.

The cover was printed last week and I am very pleased. It is a simplified welcome to the myriad of ideas and styles to be revealed on the inside. Very few people have seen it and I have worked hard to keep it under wraps... especially from my Mother who has asked several times about it but doesn't know that it was shot at her childhood home (so keep the secret for me). I look forward to hearing all of your reactions to the printed piece. I am very pleased and hope that you will be too.

Best,
Matthew
