From Brooklyn...with love. And A GIVE-AWAY!

We are fortunate today to have one of our favourite bloggers (and one of HOLIDAY blog panelists) guest posting today. Stefanie, also know as Mrs. Limestone, is undoubtedly one of the most talented and creative bloggers of her genre and has graciously agree to share some of her one-of-a-kind holiday mailings. No ordinary holiday greeting cards for her!!

Hi everyone! My name is Stefanie, of Brooklyn Limestone , and I'm thrilled to be guest posting today!

BLblogbuttonwide
Linda is the one who first introduced me (virtually speaking, of course) to the creative machine that is Matthew Mead, and I've been hooked every since. So, naturally, when they asked me to contribute something to the holiday issue I was overjoyed! Especially because I take the season very seriously. Case in point, I start thinking about my holiday mailing when it is still warm out!

There are few things I enjoy more than finding a surprise package in the mail. So what better time to put that thought into practice for our friends and family than during the holidays? My husband and I go a little beyond the traditional card by including a tiny little gift along with our well wishes. Each year it is something a little different. Coming up with the idea, the design, and the packaging is a special part of the season for me. I hope our friends and family enjoy the tradition of finding that little something in their mail as much as I enjoy creating it.

Last year, we sent out custom screen-printed tea towels with wishes for a "clean start" to 2010.

You can read more about this project on Brooklyn Limestone.

In 2008 we sent out a little "old school" style card with a set of bookplates tucked in the back.

And the year before that, we sent out a set of greeting cards so our friends and family had a little stash for all of those little events that come up during the year.

Some years it is more elaborate than others, but it is always a surprise. This year's concept is all fleshed out in my mind; I just need to pull all of the pieces together. If you are one of the readers who have purchased a copy of HOLIDAY, you will see that I have contributed a DIY project you can create on your own in just a few easy steps.
