WHITE HALLOWEEN CATERPILLAR
9 mini white lanterns (we purchased ours here)
one sheet card stock
12 pipe cleaners
scissors
hot glue gun and glue sticks
2. From Autumn Style story, page 94:
Amy Powers' Dad's Gingerbread Recipe:
Mix thoroughly:
1/2 cup soft shortening
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
Blend in:
1 cup dark molasses
1 cup boiling water
Sift together and stir in slowly, beating until smooth:
2 1/4 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup soft shortening
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
Blend in:
1 cup dark molasses
1 cup boiling water
Sift together and stir in slowly, beating until smooth:
2 1/4 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
**Pour into a well greased and floured 9-inch square pan. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes in a 325 degree oven. Serve hot with whipped cream or applesauce. Enjoy!
