Making a list and checking it twice!

Lists have been made and we've checked them twice. Food, rental car, wardrobe and props have all been thought and re-thought as we begin our trek to Arizona to meet Stephanie Nielson and her family. It is so exciting when you meet new families and are allowed a glimpse into their lives and traditions. HOLIDAYS are such a special time and while we are shooting out of season for the feature, it will be so great to participate in the making of a celebration for Stephanie, her husband, Christian, and their children and friends.

Now, photo shoots are like life - full of unexpected ups and downs and twists and turns that must be navigated like a ship in high seas, especially when the shoots are on location and travel time and lodging are involved. In this case, lots of planning and input from Stephanie has helped us navigate the waves well, even with her unexpected surgery and recovery. And like any experienced editor, you will see her stamp on the story, hear her words in their entirety and know from these pages how she celebrates life, her children and all the joys of the Christmas season with her family and friends. As many of you know, Stephanie is recovering from a very serious operation, one that will bring her closer to improving her physical comfort and mobility.  Because of that, we are presented with challenges in shooting her; but we have some creative solutions to deal with those challenges. Thanks to her husband Christian, Stephanie will absolutely be appearing in the feature and I think you will be very pleased with the results.

And most importantly, Stephanie provided the ideas and location and beautiful children!

As for props, Stephanie collects latte bowls from Anthropologie so we picked some up for the shoot, as well as all kinds of fun projects for the kids to make and prepare while shooting. There will be lots of specialty things too, like hats and banners and goody bags for the kids. My hope is that the feature will be a beautiful and visual memento of a really special time, for everyone to revisit and enjoy time and again.

We know that Stephanie has received many prayers, kind wishes and much love and we ask that you please join us in keeping Stephanie and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Have you reserved your copy yet?
