It's never to early to dream...especially when it comes to HOLIDAY! This year, join Matthew Mead and Linda MacDonald as we re-launch Holiday with Matthew Mead - a fresh take on all aspects of holiday including decorating, entertaining, gift giving and more, and this time with a TWIST. Our HOLIDAY magazine will break new ground, including you, the reader in a real "CONTRIBUTING EDITOR" role. You will aid us in picking features, selecting recipes and choosing artists. There will be interactive forums for selecting locations and contests that may even lead to Matthew coming to YOUR home to shoot YOU as one of our features... and Linda on the phone line getting every little detail from you about how you "celebrate the Yuletide". It is a publication for you and about you without any corporate input regarding what people in high rise buildings think you want. You know what you want and we are here to deliver it. So, dream big!
Says Matthew: "Throughout my career I have always felt that the HOLIDAY issues were the most magical and most prized. Now, I want to create a timeless keepsake of ideas that keeps my readers pleased for years to come."
"Holiday with Matthew Mead is a publication that delivers a little bit of everything: a variety of styles, traditions and inspired crafts and recipes that will make your Holiday a beautiful, meaningful and delicious reflection of you and your family"
~ Linda MacDonald~
Holiday with Matthew Mead (2010) is new: it's fresh, it is the interactive future of magazines, and will include you from the outset: - as we drag in the tree, string the lights and get in the kitchen to make the easiest and most stylish treats ever. We will visit homes (maybe yours!), meet talented artists, home-owners and bloggers who are living their dreams, making delicious foods, and creating amazing projects to decorate the tree and give as gifts. Holiday will feature all of your favorite crafts using scrap booking, quilting and needle art techniques, fresh ideas for glitter and vintage findings, and the best ways to engage and gather friends for some memorable holiday moments.

SO excited - I FINALLY found a copy of Flea Market Style this week, (it took 32 stores!), and am now looking forward to your Holiday pub. As you can see - I go a little crazy at the holidays - http://modern-country.blogspot.com/2009/12/our-home-for-holidays.html. Thank for sharing the experience with us!
ReplyDeleteYES!!!!! I loved the first Holiday with Matthew Mead that you did years ago and was so hoping you would do another. I have used and abused that magazine. I have to say it is my all time favorite magazine!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic news!!
I'm so looking forward to this! As you probably know, Linda, my home (which is my childhood home, built by my father) is mostly reds, and is called "Little Red House." So Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday to decorate. Can't WAIT to see the new publication!

Well, now. What a refreshing idea. We love our blogs, because we love seeing the work of real people in real homes. . . but sometimes we really want to sit with a book in our hands and pore over real pages, not web pages. This sounds like the best of both worlds!
ReplyDeleteI love holiday issues of magazines and this bookazine looks like it will be wonderful! I love decorating for the holidays. I have Christmas dishes from Waechtersbach that I bought from the factory store when we lived it Germany many years ago. I love bringing those out and using them! I am in the process of starting my own blog so I will be sure to blog about them this holiday season!
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting, I love how everyone decorates their blog for Christmas. It is fun and inspiring to go and visit and see what everyone else is up to and to give out ideas and recipes, patterns and decorating tips.

Just found out about this through Liz Demos! Please check out my blog . . . maybe we can collaborate on something!

I too would like to become a "contributing editor" of your bookazine. Do you have a deadline for project submissions? The wheels of my creative mind are turning right now, thinking of a holiday project using vintage materials.....
ReplyDeleteHow EXCITING! I would LOVE to join in on the fun! Can you give information on submissions?
ReplyDeleteThanks!

I've been a follower of yours for years. Love your ideas and can't wait to see what you've come up with in your new book-azine! I'm interested in "submissions" information as well!

I look forward to this publication in October. You can tell I love Christmas, since I even wrote a book about celebrating it.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from BlueBird Notes, who I have been following well before her Artful blogging shout out. Spectacular idea. What fun this will be to follow. When it's 90 outside, it's never too early to think about winter and snow.
